Spring is here!

Spring is finally here, the winter took way too long this year and now in may it finally feels like the spring has officially begun. I am always reminded of the quote by Pable Neruda:

“You can cut all the flowers but you cannot keep Spring from coming.”

Spring means I get to get outside more again, meet new people and get to enjoy new experiences. Highlight of the spring would be the Japanse Garden in Clingendael. The old garden in one of the most beautiful city parks in the Hague is a sight to behold. It is not the only special place for spring, festivals are popping up again and a visit to Meijendel is as good as mandatory.

The Japanse Garden

Clingendael is a park located between Den Haag and Wassenaar. It is a former estate and has been erected in theĀ  English style. The park is ideal for walking and the highlight is the Japanese Garden which is the largest of the Netherlands. The garden is open for just a few weeks in the year in spring and in the autumn. This is because the the garden is very fragile and of a high age. If you find yourself in the Hague the Japanese garden is a definite must.
